dusty-45s-promo-picThe Dusty 45s are proud to partner with DESC (formerly Downtown Emergency Service Center) once again this year for the 2nd annual Gimme Shelter benefit concert on Friday, January 29, 2010, at The Triple Door, playing at 7 pm and 10 pm. Chuckanut Drive will open both shows.

The Gimme Shelter event comes shortly before the release of The Dusty 45s’ highly anticipated new studio album, Fortunate Man. 2_dsc_3462_2If you’ve been to a Dusty 45s show recently, you have undoubtedly noticed the “new guy” totally rocking the upright bass. Meet Jeff Gray! Jeff joined the Dusty 45s this summer, playing his first shows at U Village and Harbor Steps. After hardly any rehearsal, he came out strong, like a D45s pro! Jeff grew up in Snellville, Georgia, and was introduced to music at an early age, attending shows at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta and playing in marching bands. Jeff started out playing the trumpet, and also learned the baritone and drums, before landing (and excelling!) on the bass. He took his talent to Western Washington University in Bellingham, where he graduated with a major in music. Jeff calls Bellingham home and is very established in the music scene there. His current influences are The Beatles, Bach, and Gary Karr (the first ever solo double bassist).

If you haven’t already, come on out and give Jeff a warm and rowdy D45s welcome!
