But, First, A HUGE Thank You (again)!
A major shout out of gratitude to all those who attended the 3rd annual Gimme Shelter concert, benefiting the important work of DESC (Downtown Emergency Service Center), on February 24th!!! Hundreds of music fans and DESC supporters braved the cold weather and filled The Showbox at the Market and raised more than $20,000 for DESC’s programs to end homelessness.
Thank you to all the bands that donated their performances.
The Dusty 45s Get Ready to Tour with the Legendary Wanda Jackson!
Starting at the end of the month, The Dusty 45s are thrilled to begin touring with the incomparable Wanda Jackson. Wanda was recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and she is THE Queen of Rockabilly. Her latest album, The Party Ain’t Over, was released this past January. Jack White of the White Stripes produced the record and after more than 50 years of touring, Wanda proves she’s still got it! Dusty 45s Members Rock SXSW!
Billy Joe and Kelly Van Camp will be performing this week at the South By Southwest Music Festival! Both Billy Joe and KVC will be rocking the Free Ballard party on St. Patrick’s Day at Trophy’s on March 17th at 4:30 pm. Billy will front “The Billy Joe Show” with some other fabulous Seattle musicians, and Mr. Van Camp with be playing with Massy Ferguson, kicking it all off, at 12 pm. Throughout the weekend, Mr. Kelly Van Camp will continue his run with Massy Ferguson, check out their MySpace page for dates – http://www.myspace.com/massyferguson. Later that same night, Billy Joe will play with the legendary Wanda Jackson at The Rachael Ray party at Jo’s Coffee. Finally, on March 19th at 3 pm, Billy Joe will team up again with Wanda Jackson at Stubb’s Bar-B-Q. They’ll be sharing the stage with rockabilly icons Danny B. Harvey, Earl Poole Ball, Tom Lewis, and Kevin Smith! With a line-up like this you, you won’t want to miss these shows if you’re in the area!
